Jill's Story
Well, I can't edit my last name in the MVB system it seems, but it is now Jill Lewis-Spector. My husband of 27years, Gray Lewis, passed suddenly 7 years ago. We had two wonderful children. Eighteen months ago I remarried and am incredibly happy. My new husband and I divide our time between New Jersey and Siesta Key, FL. David is a retired and a former Hollywood screenwriter. Some of you reading this may remember my sister Marcia. She died one year ago this month, leaving behind three grown daughters.

eading Association - a nonprofit organization of more than 70,000 members. I will be President in 2014. I do volunteer teacher education in literacy throughout the world and have authored a number of books, chapters, and articles for teacher educators and college students. My memories of high school are not particularly favorable. Van Buren was way too big. It was run like a factory, with little attention to individual needs or interests. There isn't a single teacher whom I recall in a favorable light. This experience led me to teach high school and then college with the goal of, hopefully, providing my students with more than what I received.
