Jill's Story
After graduation I lived and worked in many parts of the state, working in biology and education. Earned a master's degree from UAF and worked in Sitka as a Cooperative Extension Service agent, where I taught beach survival (among other things) and had fun with my rowboat before marrying and returning to Fairbanks, where my husband and I raised twins. Worked in the Fairbanks schools, then retired. We enjoy going out to our remote cabin.

for an exchange program between Alaska and Japan, and now help edit an online magazine for collectors of Japanese art.
I like to keep from being bored, so am always trying new things, expanding my horizons. I fulfilled a goal from middle school and studied custom shoemaking, making shoes, boots and sneakers. Lately, I"ve been wandering through Japan, walking ancient pilgrimage trails. The Pandemic put a pause to some plans for future pilgrimages.
I don't check this page very often. I am also on Facebook, with a Japanese pagoda as part of my profile photo.
