Jim's Story

Life I've put a lot of miles on the road since I left Clifton-Fine. After graduating from Clarkson, I went into the Army for three years. Following my urge for adrenaline, I spent the last year as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne. When I got out, I returned to northern New York for a few years... and realized I didn't like the cold and snow any more! I spent the next 14 years in Tucson, Arizona. While I was there, I got out of the mental health field and started working for the Postal Service. In '93, I moved to Denver. After a divorce, I decided to explore part of the country I hadn't seen before and ended up in Spokane, Washington. ...Expand for more
I'm now remarried, have kids in high school, and still work for the Postal Service (running the Finance department). I've discovered that Washington state grows some world-class wine grapes, so I started making wine. Last year, one of my wines won a bronze medal in the National Amateur Winemaking Competition, and I plan to actually open a commercial winery in a few years. I've been riding a motorcycle since living in Arizona, and two years ago I lived my dream and rode a coast-to-coast trip through upstate New York and back. All in all, the first half of my life has been pretty good... can't wait to see what'll happen during the second half!
