Jim's Story
After Graduation from Lee Edwards in 1965, I entered the military for four years, where I learned electronics. After Vietnam I returned to Asheville and started college. I was a math major at UNC-Asheville. In college I met my wife of 16 years. I started a career in electrical, electronics and communications. We built a rustic home in Fairview where we lived, and I loved living in the country. After 6 years we had a son, Daniel; 3 years later another son, Matthew. is wife Mandy and my two grandchildren Cate and Jill, who was born on Halloween 2008. We planted an orchard of 20 fruit trees there. I love spending weekends there. Matt has a motorcycle track on the farm. Today I enjoy traveling. I travel to Nicaragua, where my friends operate a development mission. I also go to Haiti, and to Europe, and Manhatten. I have a small older RV and I like music festivals and camping. I love to be in the woods. I am semi retired, I work 20 hours per week in the office, and I am remodeling houses. I live alone in Montford, and enjoy watching movies (comedies & documentaries) and going to plays. I like 60¿s music and Reggae music. I enjoy eating simple basic home cooked style food. I am a social & political liberal, and hope for world peace in my lifetime.
