Jim's Story
November, 28th, 2009.
My story? Where to start?
After graduation I had an awesome few years which, while lacking in focus or any direction were simply wonderful in many ways. I played around at CCRI, lived with an awesome girl, (though I failed to realize it at the time), and partied WAY too much. I was much more of an idiot than I thought I was!
Moved to Block Island for a couple of years when I was given an opportunity to use the talents I learned at Davies. I got a job as a piping field engineer at a Nuclear Power plant in Augusta Georgia. Living in that craphole of a bible belt town was probably just what I needed as I gained alternate perspectives on many many things. (And no, that doesn't mean that I am now a Good-Ol-Boy)... =-)
In Augusta, I met and married the most beautiful heart on the planet. Vickie and I have been blessed with 3 wonderful children, Derrick (25), Nichole (21) and Christin(14). I can honestly say that I hear people complaining a...Expand for more
bout "kid's today" and I can't for the life of me figure out what the hell they are talking about. Sorry....but MY kids absolutely rock!
In 1986 the type of work I did dried up so I eventually got into home building and neighborhood development.
In 1991 I could no longer stand living in Augusta but my wife's family is in the area so we had ourselves a sitchiation! I ended up telling her that if we HAVE to live in Georgia, it HAS to be Savannah. Savannah has it's problems to be sure, but it's a far cry from Augusta!
I now develop neighborhoods at Hunter Army Airfield and Fort Stewart near Savannah, Georgia, replacing old military housing in a privatized setting and I live in a small island community south of Savannah called Isle of Hope.
I miss SEVERAl things about living in Rhode Island as most of the people I love are still in there but we get back fairly often to visit and this area is so beautiful it's hard to describe!
Life's an adventure isn't it!
