Jim's Story

For those interested, So it has been 10 years since last updating my profile. I will leave the old one below, done around 2013, as reference, but so much has changed. Gabi has graduated with a BS from Towson and is looking at going for her Masters here in Florida. She has really grown and matured into a wonderful young woman. As many of you know, my youngest daughter Rebecca passed away in 2020, just before COVID hit. She had been in pain for 5 years and was not able to live even a semblance of a normal life. She was only 20 years old and we are all still heartbroken over her loss. The company I started, TMAC, did exceptionally well. I grew the company to 63 employees and had a large prime contract with the DoD and multiple subcontracts, before selling it in December 2021. I'll never have to work again and my wife and I bought a beautiful home in Vero Beach, Florida. Terri and I LOVE it here in Vero (no congestion, friendly people, beach and river-side restaurants and GREAT weather!!). We have bought homes for my daughter, Mom and brother down near us so we have our family close. We sold our home in Sykesville MD in 2022 and are really living our best lives. I am playing a lot of golf and really improving (started with an average of 105 and down to about 95 per round). Hoping to get into the 80's as an average by summer 2023. I am all about goals. :) Still great friends with Mickey Bennett and Robert Wilson. Mickey and I still play golf whenever we can (either in MD when I visit, in FL when he visits and in Mrytle where he has a home). I also have my TMAC family that I stay in touch with. Lots of wonderful people I had the privilege of working with. Those are the highlights. Looking forward to staying in touch with my Glen Burnie family. We have lost several of our classmates already, so staying in touch with those with similar backgrounds is more important than ever. Happy New Year (today...Expand for more
is Jan 1st, 2023). Original Post in 2013: I have stayed in Maryland, though I have moved out to Carroll County. It has been 16 years and what a difference. We are on 3 acres, away from traffic and in a place where I can breath and enjoy the fresh air. Married (16 yrs) with 2 great girls, Gabi and Becca. Gabi is very talented (her art is fantastic) and is in advanced prep (AP) classes. Becca does things her way, very smart, very cute. Great hearts and will do great things as they become adults. Couldn't be prouder. I am still great friends with Mickey Bennett (PG Police Investigator). I don't get to see/speak to Russ LaAsmar, Mark Darrah and Rob Wilson nearly enough (where does the time go). I am a huge local sports fan (Ravens, Terps, & O's) and a Member of Ravens Nest 14. I don't get to play as much as I would like, but at least I get out for Golf every once in a while (right Mick!). I realize with every passing year how great I had it in High School. Great friends, good times, lots of unforgettable experiences that helped me become who I am. I wouldn't have changed a thing . . . OK, maybe a thing here or there. I started my own company (late 2009) and already have six major DoD contracts. We are staffing up with 8 people already. Lots to do, but the future looks great. I am always looking for good people with clearances to help us out! So here I am at about mid-life with very few regrets. I have lived a very happy life with few major hurdles, I worked hard to obtain all that I need to sustain my family, I have a few excellent friends (though not nearly enough?!?!), and best of all, a loving family. To sum it all up, life is pretty awesome. Hope you are as lucky as I have been and doing as well. Take care and enjoy every day like it is your last. Best Wishes, Jim Clark Jim.Clark55 at comcast.net PS. I would love to hear from you!! You can contact me through facebook also.
