Jimmie's Story
School
I attended Torrance High from 1958 - 1962 I was in the Marching Band all 4 years.
I attended for 6 semesters at Long Beach State College. I majored in Education & Music. I married Diane Norris, who was my neighbor and high school sweatheart in my Junior year, October 1964. I decided to leave school in June of 1965, and work full time at Chandler's Palos Verdes Sand & Gravel Co. that...Expand for more
summer. That same month Diane & I got pregnant, with our first son Robert. I also started a home study electronics course and that proved to be the beginning of my career in the IT computer field.
I was very fortunate and landed a job with IBM, in Oct. 1966. I started as an assembly tech building a "State of the art" high speed "Drum" storage unit. I was in seventh heaven !!!
