Jim's Story

My story? This is where I get all theatrical? Hell no. I left high school. I went to college. I got married. I worked. I had kids. I didn't go to prison. I had my share of lumps. It didn't start ... "It was a dark and stormy night," all though it felt like it at times. You know what? We are getting old. I still refuse to admit it. Age is a number but I hit my old wall at 37. I woke up one day while I was 37 and went, WHAT THE ...! The days suddenly got harder. Work suddenly got harder. All of a sudden, what my doctor had been saying made sense. It was time I stopped eating so many cookies, drinking so much beer, kicking so many doors. The trips to the ER became harder to recover from. Physical Therapy was a thing for old people ... WAS! The slow transformation to stop the inevitable almost seemed impossible. I look back 20+ years and I often wonder. No regrets, just wondering. Life is truly about the journey, not the destination. I hope I'm around long enough to have many long journeys.
