Jim's Story
My wife Kathy and I are finally blessed to have a faith filled life on our tiny farm in Michigan. Recently my company, I guess, decided that I was too expensive, so they retired me. Now there is more time for scooping poop and taking care of our horses, dogs, cats and oh yes... 5 adult kids and 9 grand children that are within baby sitting range. Looking forward to a couple part time jobs and volunteer work..... no more 100 daily emails and phone calls..... no more ties and stiff shirts! The inexpensive people can handle those, right! Whoa..... almost 50 years since I was a Quaker Must have been fun cause the time flew by. Every morning I look into the mirror and wonder who is that old man in my pajamas! God's Blessings to you all!

rs. Moving toward manhood was slow going for us, We somehow did stay focused on a group effort of overcoming our lack of size both in numbers and stature, against much larger opponents, schools and communities. There were set-backs and disappointments that blocked our way, but They did not defeat us. This was basic training for the rest of life. It was not an undefeated season since one late game rally fell just short with our star player injured and on the sidelines. This bit of history is no longer brightly lit. Many of the fans that stood ten deep on the frozen November sidelines are gone. Even in our central Indiana hometown, this event has no lingering significance for most of its current residents, but to those who lived it, perspired and cried that summer fifty years ago, this was an accomplishment of growing, trusting and teamwork. It is too bad that our modern daily lives don't include this since of fellowship, camaraderie and accomplishment. Thanks to all who made it possible and relevant in my life.
