Jim's Story

Hi All, I'm very busy since my wife got sick and almost died a year ago. She's still not back to 100% and may never be. Anyway, in a nutshell here is my story. I was not a big fan of high school. Some good and a lot bad happened in my life during that time. Suffice to say I couldn't wait to get out of school. I miss some of the people but did stay in touch with a few of them as well. When I got out on my own I worked with composite materials, then worked as a heavy equipment mechanic and operator, Then moved to northern California to work as an outside machinist in a naval shipyard working predominantly on submarines until the yard was closed due to defense cuts. Out of the eight and a half years I worked there I spent almost five traveling to other locations (mainly San Diego and Pearl Harbor) to repair submarines and surface ships. I met my wife on one of those trips back to San Diego. She worked locally for the same shipyard. We married in '94 as the shipyard was closing and we ended up back in San Di...Expand for more
ego, both working for the navy. Despite what the doctors said, and after all the injections I had to give my wife, to no avail, in 2006 we had a little girl. So, we've got a four-year-old, going on sixteen, who is the love of our lives. She is a hilarious drama queen who loves to make people laugh. She, like her mother, loves to dance and sing. With work, my semi-disabled wife, and my daughter as priorities, I have little time for other things although, that will change in time. My parents, siblings, and their families all live in Washington or the midwest so we thrive here in San Diego, along with my wife's hundreds of Chamorro family members throughout the area. Things I've learned: Keep life interesting, have fun in everything you do. Smile, laugh, and cherish those you choose to have around you. Be serious when you have to be, and don't let foolish people get to you. They aren't worth your time or energy, unless they're family. Then you might have to change how you look at them. Tough love Folks. See ya.
