Jim's Story

I just recently bought this 1967 Firebird. I had one about like it way back when in '69. Have always wanted one and finally found this one about 15 miles away as opposed to 15 states away. I've lived in LaSalle, CO since the summer of 1970 and bought this acreage in 1976. Got married in 1981 and we talked about a log home for the next 20 years. Finally got it built about 4 years ago. As you can see by my garb, I like the summer and sun. Some think I'm a little silly, but I figure after all these years if I still look as good as I think I do, I'm going to wear this thing. Hey, it works for Ted Nugent and Tarzan, so what the heck. :o)~ I may add more to this as the urge arises. Well, here's some more: Got me a tatoo! It's the Bat Signal shining on the clouds calling for the Dynamic Duo! Maybe I can add Gotham City too. Guess it goes with my comic book collection. I have about 3000 comics from 1959 to 1982. All Superman, Batman and Justice League related. (Green Lantern, Flash, Wonder Woman) those guys. We all need o...Expand for more
ur heroes. Here is the latest photo of our log house. We had the whole house corn cob blasted and restained this fall. (like sand blasting, but using ground up corn cobs. It's less abrasive than sand) We also had the whole house chinked. The house was built with the Sweedish Cope style where no chinking was necessary, but with Colorado's dry climate, the logs were always shrinking or expanding which caused cracks to show up here and there in the logs. The chinking helps with the sealing and give the whole place a nicer look. If you look at the picture of me and the Firebird, that is how the house looked before blasting, staining and chinking. Well, got me a new toy. It's a 1975 Harley Sportster with side car. I bought it at an auction in April/09. I'm pretty sure I won't take it to Sturgiss, but I will putter around town and go to the hills with it. I may even bring it to the reunion. By then, I'll have the Bat Emblem on the rear of the sidecar. Linda won't ride in the side car...she says she "isn't Robin". :o)~
