Jim's Story

Hi all.well after CPHS, I went into the navy, spent 6 years because my recruiter duped me into the Nuclear power program. I didn't cut it and wound up on Midway Island and the Gooney birds then a lovely Amphib ship. It was the Anchorage LSD-36 so i can say i was on LSD in the late 60's. Got out in 1972, moved to oklahoma went to tech school for refrigeration and air conditioning. Married my first wife, a full blood American Indian and conceived a son and a daughter with her. This marriage ended and I had custody of my kids. r 23 years. during that time i joined the Navy Seabee reserves thinking one weekend a month and 2 weeks of training a year for 14 more years and have a retirement from the service, this was in 1989. 1990 I was mobilized for desert storm, 2001 i was mobilized again for 1 year after 911, and in 2006 I was mobilized again and went to iraq.Well so much for the weekend warrior fantasy. anyway in 1997 I changed jobs to be a stationary engineer in San Francisco. When i came back from iraq I retired afrom the Navy and was transferred to Genentech as a stationary engineer. This May before the reunion I am going to retire and loaf. Then find a job to keep me off welfare. LOL Maybe a Walmart greeter. Anyway there is my somewhat out of order 45 year history after graduation.
