Jim's Story

Another reversal in Membership has just took place ~ Will have to get caught up with what has backfilled since I left. .. !!!! Life; . . . I'm Son #3 of 7 Boys ~ grew up an Army Brat . . . I was Born at FT. Lewis WA. in 1944. Loved My Birth Parents & still do . . . although all are gone now. I lost my Birth Mother and oldest Brother 2 weeks before my 1st Birthday . . . 1945. Then ~ I lost my 1st. Stepmother at age 5, . . by suicide, . . 1949. Older Bro & I were shuffled around & cared for by extended Family members, while my Dad was in Korea during that War !! Then in 1952 My Dad married Stepmom #2 so we were a Family once again !! New Mom & my Dad had 4 more Sons, so we were 6 Boys in number now . . Haaaaa !!! Never had a Sister, . . always got hand me down Clothes from older Bro & we were in no way the same size . . he was 10" taller . . .. Haaaa again. !!! Only got new stuff at Christmas & Birthdays !!! Haaaa yet once again !!! Finished senior year (1963) ~ joined Army in Sept. 63, got G.E.D. as required for enlistment, served 4 years active duty & then returned to Fairfax in Aug. of 67' . . . hung around & worked, . then Moved to Wisconsin for 1 year to play R&R music, then moved to Oklahoma City, OK. to re-unite with Army friends who just got out of service & wanted to form Rock band! Bad idea !!, no income & poor living conditions, so I packed every-thing I owned into (65'Dodge Dart) and moved out to Tacoma, Washington in Sept. 69'. This is my Home State, & all major Family relations were here & it was great fun seeing those folks for the first time in many moons. Went to College with G.I. Bill, played Music professionally for several years, got into Arts/Graphics (long before P.C's came to be!), & did design work & Product Design, then switched to Architectural Design & I have stayed with that since 78'. Got married to Wife in 80' & lived in Lacey WA. for 20 Years, then wife & I were looking for a change, & fell in love with Rural Georgia, where ( Her youngest ) daughter had moved to and we left Lacey WA. & moved there in April of 98'.. But ~ to my displeasure, within 2 Years after moving here to Georgia, we got div...Expand for more
orced & I moved over 2 counties & settled in Byron. Ga. just South of Macon, . . so I ended up with most of the photographs & every one of my memories, and I thought my Angel had forgotten to watch over me on a full time basis. Anyone is welcome to contact by 'e mail' or phone & have a Year Book handy. I never had access to one from that time period, so if it is possible to capture a copy of the Classmates of 63', it would be a real kick to keep track of the people & have the names to back it all up with some fun times & glimpses of those faces, that may fade away. ( A 2010 update;) I have finally found the correct name of FAV old school female interest, that I most regret not having to know better in those days, I have made contact with the LINDA I was seeking !! It only took 49 Years to find that out!! The one real reason for sticking it out with CMDC all this time, & I believe she is still married. RE: (014') Update . . . . have given up with old Fav search .. .. .. .. ( got Large amount of US $'s to keep things Quiet !! ) ( and info on where to get Cheap Ammo !! ) Did actually hear from the Linda this Year & we had fun sharing some memories from 62'~63' & glad that she is Happy and productive, and contented to remain single, so . . Wow, what a kick !!! Kept busy doing Architectural Drafting ( went from Manual hand Drafting ~ then took up Cad Drafting ) . . for new structures, . . remodel ~ Upgrading plans for clients Business or Custom House plans for my clients & actually started to build a nice assortment of House plans ~ then sort of let that venture end !! Started playing Lead guitar chops again & enjoy the heck out this venture - Having started playing a new finger pick style & it has changed my approach to playing overall to be better than when much younger & caught up with trying to mimic everyone else's playing style !!! And thank goodness ~ "Tube Amps" have made a comeback !!!! Got my own small Tasteful Collection of keeper class Combo amps & cut back Guitar count to only " 5 " guitars . . ( gotta live with small number . . so things don't get out of hand . . Haaa !!!! I was getting to the point of being my own small Music Store . . Ouch !! )
