Corporate Cycling Challenge - Omaha
No bike ride for us today, ... we were the official greeters (this may help us get a job as a greeter at Wal-Mart someday).
Many more riders for the 10 and 20 mile rides.
OK, I did get a chance to ride after we got all the riders on there way. I tried out this new Surly Pugsley on the MOPAC Trail for a few miles. What a workout! Takes about 30% more effort than either a hybrid or road bike,
First round of riders off at 8:00a for the 50-mile ride.
Next year we're planning to help with the setup and teardown, but then do our own fundraising and ride this event instead.
One of Meg's other duties, ... fend off cars and trucks from passing through the start/finish gate! She took this job very seriously!
Did the 'Nacho Ride' in Lincoln last night with Meg Churchill-Black, and a few Lincoln friends. 10 miles to Eagle, and 10 back on the MOPAC Trail. Here Meg screams by me as we head back to Lincoln. Sorry for the bad pic. I
I found this mint-condition road bike on Craigslist last week, a 2009 model with only 450 original miles by the previous owner. A bike computer was included.
It's spec'd out with all-aluminum frame, carbon fork & seatpost, with 9-speeds & Shimano Tiagra shift, Race lite tires and seat. It's super fast and light. RAGBRAI will be a good shakedown, but doubt I can stand on it with
