James's Story
Life....The Ultimate Reality Show
I can't believe I've made it this far, in spite of myself. Life is good, especially in low-light. I've done different things. In travel for a few years as a tour guide. Didn't make much money, but got to see a lot of places. For the last thirty-five years I've been involved in video production. I have my own company-American Video Productions-and it has provided me with a nice way to "make a living." I've done forty or fifty pieces for PBS in the last couple of years. It's fun to create. I've had a few short stories published over the years, but life seems to take up most of my time. I am in the final stages of two books I've been writing for way too long. "Loonies," -two patients escape from the Mentalarium and see the "real" world. It's zany and wacky in a desperate kind of way. Just like real life. "Shimmer" is the heart-warming adventures of Ray and Maxine Devine, as they try to get rid of a dead plumber's body and maybe save their marriage. Hope to have them published shortly.
I was married once; I was almost 49 at the time. I'm not married now.
A few things I remember... PEP period and late arrival/early dismisal (how the hell did we get away with that?)

public speaking-great guy with an unhappy ending. Mrs. Meisenberg, who was a student teacher our last year, and very cool. This was during the time we wanted to be hippies. I, personally am still looking for the Summer of Love. I still have no idea what a Tawanka is, but I don't really care anymore, and I'm okay with that.
I miss Pronto pups. I miss recess even more. Whose idea was that to take that out of our lives? Once you lose it, it's not easy to get it back.
To those people who have made it this far; I salute you. We must have done something right.
For the past ten years, there have been two MT Oldies reunions. Classmates from the '60's and '70's flock together. With our current health situation, there were no hugs last summer. It's a great night to hang out with "old" and good friends. Satisfaction is guaranteed, or your money back. Next planned event will be February 6, 2021, at Foley's at Meadow Park.
Check out our three sites on Facebook. Mount Tahoma Oldies, Mount Tahoma Rocks! and theMount Tahoma Class of 1970s. 20 videos, Over 2600 fellow T-Birds nest there. A place to stay in touch with a few good friends and find out about the reunions.
As long as we're here, we might as well dance...
