Jim Hurley:  

I passed through Redondo High School with a low profile. Looking back I can say this was a fun and very important time in my life. My friends and teachers helped to lunch me on the path I have traveled the last 50 years. During my junior and senior years I worked all the allowable hours at Fox Markets in Torrance. Perhaps I should have spent more time at school. After graduation I tried my hand in the gas business working at a Shell gas station. Then I turned 18 and it seemed like a good time to join the United States Marine Corp. After the Cuban Crises and then my first tour overseas I met the love of my life, Eileen. I did my second tour overseas returned home and we were married in 1966. I left the Marines to hook up with Ma Bell (Pacific Telephone and Telegraph). In 1967 our one and only son David was born. In the late 1970s we were transferred to Sacramento. There I was assigned to staff out of San Francisco....Expand for more
