James's Story
I wasn't much of a student at Mount Vernon. Wanted to be involved in athletics, but I was an Army brat so didn't get the opportunity. After HS, flunked out of college and joined the Army. After I got out, I decided to apply myself, talked my way back into college in Denver, CO and did pretty well. Went on to graduate school thanks to a fellowship. Practiced professionally for 20+ years, got bored, and renovated an old building in Galveston, TX and opened a B&B. Sold that after 8 years and moved to the Florida Keys. Recently bought some land in Puerto Rico overlooking the Caribbean and plan to build (maybe a small...Expand for more
eco-resort) and move there in the next year or two.
Love cats. Ended up rescuing and adopting 20 while in Galveston. Currently still have 11. They'll all make the move to Puerto Rico.
In my spare time I've done dolphin research, scuba diving, boating, and just about anything related to the water, although I'm not a big fisherman. I still play the guitar and 5-string banjo occasionally (ought to get a job at one of the pubs in Key West).
I miss Virginia/Maryland, but that's probably the memories of how it used to be and the people I cared about as much as anything. Anyway, the next adventure will be Puerto Rico!
