"It's been a long, strange trip." (Jerry Garcia, The Grateful Dead) But, a pretty good one . . . a loving family, great friends, many special memories and only a few regrets. My wonderful wife, Nancy and I have been married since 1973. She puts up with a lot (yes, I'm high maintenance) and she will tell you she does everything for me (and she does). We have two great daughters, four wonderful grandchildren, a GREAT granddaughter and one very cool cat. During high school and the first few years of college, I worked a great first job at the Glendora Country Club with my high school pals, Ray Cloutman (still my best friend since the 5th grade), Dick Muench (Thanks for the job Dick!) and Bob Springston. After that, Steve Tribble helped me to get a job at the Ralphs Grocery Store in Glendora which would change my life (Thanks Steve!). I spent 25 years "growing up" in the Ralphs organization, then 5 years at a natural foods chain, called Wild Oats Markets based in Boulder, Colorado and finally returning to Southern California to work for Stater Bros.
