Jim's Story
Departed Central High in my senior year. Being that I was living on my own, I left school and joined the military "ARMY". Finished my schooling in the military, and married my high school sweetheart (Mary Salmon) while stationed at Ft. Riley Kansas. Was sent to Germany for cold weather training, then on to the sunny paradise of LZ Bayonet, Vietnam, to test my training. It worked!! I never did freeze during my tour. After returning to Flint, I hired into GM, we raised a family on the ole' Eastside, and retired to Flushing Township with that same high school bride. Forty seven years (2015) and counting. Damn that's a long time!!! Spending my time between Michigan, the Panhandle of Florida in winter, and visiting each October with my :Friends" of H-Troop 17th Cavalry at our annual reunions.
