Jim's Story
After LC, I studied 15 more years at the UW and U of Michigan finishing my residency in general surgery in Ann Arbor in 1980 (Go Blue). My wife Karen and i are approaching our 46th anniversary. We have three kids, an anesthesiologist, a PhD pharmacologist in cancer research, and our youngest daughter in nursing school ... 5 grandkids so far. I practiced surgery in Kirkland, Washington for 34 years , retiring a year ago. Now we are embracing the retired life and grandparenthood! I have more time for traveling, cycling, and...Expand for more
woodworking. We also have more time for UW sports, Seahawks, Mariners, as well as the Seattle Symphony, Opera, and Ballet.
I have fond memories of Lewis and Clark which stands as a testament the to value of public education. We had the full spectrum of society represented in our school, all races, religions, and economic classes. One thing I did not learn in high school was perjudice. I am thankful for teachers like like Spokane Hutchinson and Carl Milton for preparing me for a successful journey through college and beyond.
