Jim's Story

I've lived in Omaha, Nebraska since 1975. My schools include Central Catholic High School, Univ. of Notre Dame and Univ. of Penn. From 1964-66 I served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Peru. Afterward I trained new volunteers at a PC camp in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. My next stop was in Panama where I worked for the Credit Union National Ass'n. (CUNA) under a USAID contract to promote credit union growth in Latin America and the Caribbean. I returned to the US with my wife (Dorsey) and two little girls (Gabrielle and Mikaela) in 1975. From my base in Omaha I then sold and installed irriga...Expand for more
tion systems in Venezuela, Ecuador and Mexico. Five years later I joined the Scoular Grain Co., a grain storage and trading company based in Omaha. My next and final workplace stop was at a sign manufacturing company, Neon Products Co. which was started by my wife's grandparents in 1935. My wife and I rsn the company until 2015 when we turned it over to Gaby and Kaela. Since then I've played a lot of golf and tennis and just really enjoyed retirement. The photo above was taken on 11/23/23 and in addition to yours truly shows grandchildren Zachary (19), Elizabeth (16) and Andrew (17).
