Jim's Story
Right now I'm a semi-retired architect, working with my son Michael. In the past I had my own architectural firm as well as working for Tasso Katselas Assoc. as their chief architect for many years. I have designed some of the largest building projects in Pittsburgh, including the Pittsburgh International Airport, the Allegheny County Community College on the north side and The Bidwell Training Center and Manchester Craftsman's Guild. There's a ton more all over the country but that's enough of that stuff. I've also painted most of my life. I specialize in large murals, some of which were incorporated in the buildings I've designed. You can see a lot of this stuff on our web site at pappasarchitects.net
I lost my wife Mary Ann (Remele) in 2017 after 50 + years of marriage. We raised 3 kids Jim, Michael and Ida. We have 8 gra...Expand for more
ndchildren all of which are extraordinary in their accomplishments. Just some recent examples: Leah (25 yrs old) just got back from teaching in French Guiana, She's traveled to 25 countries already and is studying for a PHD in Linguistics at the University of Hawaii. Cole (20) was just named WPIAL soccer player of the year in class A and is now majoring in Petroleum Engineering and playing soccer for Marietta College in Ohio, He was just named co-captain for 2018. Bronwyn (19) picked up a Black Belt in Karate in 2016 and is now at Vassar College studying science and music., etc. etc. That's only 3 of them. They are all extraordinary kids.
If you think I'm just laying back and taking it easy, I'm not. I'm always looking for that next challenge, especially a design challenge, and of coarse there is always a golf game or two.
