Jim's Story
Life
This will show mercy and be brief.
After my first 18 yrs with great friends and family, I stayed close to home at MTSU with continuity of friends having Jim McPherson and Rusty Brown as roommates and many others of the Class of '74 around for those 4 yrs. I had a lot of fun and did enough work to move on with med school at UT '78-'82. While that period required more studying than I desired, they wouldn't agree to let me be a doc without actually going to medical school. Go figure. After internship in Virginia, I was back to Memphis for radiology residency while moonlighting in ERs. While there, I met my wife-to-be, Drenda, who was there on a volleyball scholarship at Memphis State. After residency, we moved to Kingsport where I've been practicing Radiology. in '90, Clint '91 and Carlie in '94. The boys are seriously into football, while Carlie's into volleyball. Curt is on football scholership at Univ of Wisconsin. Clint has one more year of HS. We live on the lake and enjoy the usual water activities.
The yrs. of sports have taken their toll on the usual joints, particularly the knees as Drenda and I have helped keep the local Orthopods in business. Because we had children later in life than most, we are still really busy with the kids as they are now 14, 17 and 19.
To quote Joe Walsh, "Life's been good to me so far."
College
Went to MTSU '74-'78 then on to medical school at U.T. from '78-'82. I then did my internship in Virginia before going back to Memphis where I did my radiology residency while moonlighting in ERs and urgent care offices.
