Jim's Story

Woaaa, ........ A story? .. I'm an old guy, it could be a long story. Hmmm. Here goes. MHS, SJSU (degree in Industrial Design), went to G.M. and designed cars for 6 years (was my dream). Got tired of just styling cars and moved to Canada to design mass transit vehicles (anyone ride the ACE train, CalTrain, SJ street cars?). Oh yes, married Mary Messamer and had a girl and a boy while living in Detroit suburbs. Both kids are grown and on their own. Brian is College Professor and Alissa is a scientist. Moved back to Caif to design all kinds of things and eventually caught the silicon valley wave and worked for big computer company for 15 years as Industrial Design Manager. That company ...Expand for more
was bought by a bigger company and I was "downsized". Fussed about it and then started my own design company. Started teaching part time in 1981 (at Stanford) and have been teaching ever since. Currently I teach at SJSU and Academy of Art University . Currently in another start-up. cmw-us.com. It is an EV company. Oh....forgot to mention (didn't really want to anyway) that Mary and I divorced in 1998. I now have a full time girl friend in San Francisco. Hobbies are travelling, dancing (ballroom and Lindy-Hop). You can find me dancing at Lindy in the Park every Sunday. That would be Golden Gate Park near the DeYoung Museum. Told you it would be a long story. Hope to keep it going. Jim
