Jim's Story
After graduation, because I wasn't ready to go to college I enlisted in the Army - looking for adventure and excitement. This was July 1965. Six months later I was in Vietnam with the 1st Cavalry Division. Suffice it to say, I found more adventure and excitement for two lives. I was fortunate to come home with all my body parts and only some minor scratches after 12 months of combat duty. I left the Army after my 3 year enlistment was over,
returned home to Falls Church, went to work as a Tech Rep for Xerox and married Carolyn in November 1968. We had two wonderful children, Sarah and Michael, who are doing very well with their lives today. Very sadly, our marriage ended in 1987.

n 1990. She has 3 sons, all married, and between hers and mine we have 8 grandchildren.
I retired from my job as a Tech Rep in 2013 after 43 fantastic years.
We have lived in Columbus, Ga. for the past 21 years and love it here. It is a great place to live, is a small city but with wonderful "big cities" amenities.
Columbus is the home of Fort Benning, the Army's main training base ( Infantry, Armor, Airborne, Rangers, Pathfinders and OCS ). It is also the home of The National Infantry Museum and I am on the staff. It opened in June 2009 and has been one of the most incredible experiences of my life. It is called by many, unofficially, 'The Smithsonian of the South'. Check it out on line and come see us.
