Here's what I've been up to since High School....
1)college
2)motherhood: Jason born 2/10/77!
3)work at OMSI
4)college: PSU BS In Anthropology/Arch
5)worked at Estacada Ranger District as forest service tech/archaeologist!!!
6)more archaeology work
7)got married
9)1996 motherhood redux--daughter Anjelica is born!
10)July 29, 2001 turned 43!!!!!! :)
11)got divorced!
12)more college/masters degree
13)got remarried!!! finally decided to do it right! went for a nice guy for a change! now married to the kindest, most intelligent, compassionate, learned, sexy, gorgeous, nerdy professor whom I met at PSU where I work and do my research! Falling in love and loving in my late forties is fabulous!
14)now have 4 step-children in addition to my own lovely children!
15)I keep collecting children--just added 3 sponsored children through Childreach!
16) Sept -06 my beautiful baby boy Jason is getting married! I will be the instant grandmother of 4 in addition to being the mother-in-law of a wonderful young woman!
17) can life get any better than this????? Funny thing, I once thought I couldn't be happy unless I traveled the world or had my Phd in anthropology and worked alongside the Leaky family in the Olduvai Gorge. Now my life is so full of love for family I think my heart will burst--oh the sweet and wondrous mysteries and surprises of life! simply amazing!
18)turned 50 July 29th 08!!! WOW! Difficult news this year--son Jason, now 31, joined Army National Guard. Completed Basic Training Aug 22, now in Adv Training until end of Nov. Proud of him--always but hard to think of implications for future--possible employments in Iraq or Afghanistan. Mamas and Papas, tell yo...Expand for more

Hey, Amanda--read your bio; my recollections of Mrs. Hellgren are pretty grim! Even remember her throwing something at Mark Stewart!!!! What was up with that??!!!!!
My favorite teacher--going back to Jr. High School: Mr. Carlson. He remains my hero! His belief in me helped me to push myself beyond my self-perceived limitations. I ran into him at a science lecture a few years back and told him that I went on to get my degree in archaology--he said he was so proud of me!!!! His praise still felt good! I told him that he was a constant source of inspiration to me--he will always be my favorite :)
Even though I have enjoyed my work in archaeology, my family is my passion! I love being a mother of such wonderful souls as Jason (now 24!) and Anjelica (now 5). Life is so wonderful, so beautiful. My main goal now is to live life to the fullest and enjoy every precious moment. Hey, that was my senior quote in the year-book!!!!!
Here's a sentimental sidenote:
--oh, how I treasure my many and varied memories of childhood years with all of you. I love returning to 'CADA and revisiting the old schools, track, football field (remember, I was a Rangerette!). When I'm there it's as if I can still see Jay, Dan, Randy, Scott, Toni...the list goes on--still running relays on the track. I see Jo Miller with her wild hair! I see Roxanne, Sharon, Robin, Karen, Shar...oh, yes--there are the losses. But I remember all of you with such fondness---I think we were a very fortunate bunch of kids to have been able to share such a long journey together. What a rare thing....
