Joan's Story
Life
I left Fremont in January 1977. I spent a year in Yosemite, and a summer in southern Oregon, before settling in Santa Cruz. I met my former husband in 1983, and we were married in 1986. We moved to Ithaca, New York in 1988, to Boulder, Colorado in 1994, I returned to Santa Cruz in January of 2000, and Boulder in July 2001. My career has been spent as an administrator for non-profit organizations (large as in universities, and small as in start-up cultural organizations).

f his law practice, I have started my own political consultancy business. We are both very active in Democratic Party politics and are thrilled to have been participants in turning Colorado blue in 2008.
I was elected to the Loveland City Council in November 2009 and re-elected to my second four year term in 2013. I am active in transportation, transit and affordable housing issues. Colorado is decades behind the Bay Areas' BART system! But, we're probably ahead in creating affordable housing.
