Joan's Story
Life
I don't know where the time has gone. Lately I have been reflecting on those great days in Toaz and Huntington High. If you remember, I married Bill Maranchuck and we recently celebrated our 50th anniversary. We had 3 children and now have 3 grandchildren. We lived in Greenlawn till 1989 when we relocated to Arizona. Lived there until we both retired in 2000 and moved to our present address in Chincoteague, VA.
Workplace
I was lucky to be a stay-at-home Mom until I went to work for Geico Insurance in 1976 in the Customer Service department. I left there in 19...Expand for more
82 due to a family commitment at home. In 1983, I started in a travel agency as an agent and loved planning vacations and business travel for people. When we moved to Phoenix in 1989 I went to work for American Express until I was recruited by GE to work at their travel center doing corporate travel for their employees. I worked graveyard, 930pm - 630am, and LOVED it. Working in the travel industry gave me the opportunity to travel extensively with my favorite companion, Bill. Now that we are retired, we have many memories of the (mostly) beautiful places we have been.
