Joan's Story
After graduation (a gazillion years ago), I worked at the Cambridge State Hospital for a few years. Got married, had 2 kids, got divorced.
One of my kids, Mike Gessinger, graduated from Ogilvie High School. My sister, Sandy Tipp, worked there for about 28 years. My daughter, Heather Gessinger Johnson, graduated from Pine City High School.
Raised the kids alone, started working at Lakes and Pines in Mora. Eventually, quit there and worked at Regional Vocational Professional Services in Mora.
Met my second (and last) husband, who was a sales man who called on RPVS. Eventually, we got married, I got my insurance licen...Expand for more
se, and quit RPVS to become self-employed.
We have an insurance agency and sell sewing machines in 5 states. I love working at home.
In 2000, I got my first digital camera. I so enjoy photography, and it was so nice to find a new hobby in my 50's.
I've had a couple of photos published in Birds & Blooms, the local newspaper, and on the cover of a resource magazine for seniors for the 5-county area.
I have six beautiful, photogenic grandkids.
The oldest just graduated from high school and is starting Northwest Bible College.
The youngest is 19 months and will graduate from potty-training soon!
My life is full and happy.
