Joan's Story

Life I'm a long way from N.J. I've lived in Maryland,Ilinois, texas, Colorado and now California. I plan on moving again this summer although where is not yet certain. Over the years I've been married twice, raised 4 children and now enjoy 7 grandchildren. My work has always been as a nurse(slight gagging with that thought). It's served me well in a lot of ways. I can't believe I got this old this fast.My life now seems to be focused on simplifying. It's time. The vision I hold for me now is to get into the RV lifestyle. My love for this began at the Succasunna Diner where they had trailers in the parking lot.I loved to go through them. This is not to say that I have a clue what I'm doing, never the less,as a single senior I'm forging ahead. As long as spirit guides me I will do just fine. I'm quite technically challenged but will keep on working on figuring it out so I'd enjoy hearing from any of you. I've been feeling a pull to return to my roots and have to see where that leads me. The memories are warm and vivid. 9/05- I've relocated to Rockaway and work in Livingston. As I move about I wonder if anyone I see with gray hair is someone I went to school with. And that's not really fair since my hair is not gray(a combo of mother nature and chemicals.)So,until I actually recognize or hear from someone I'll be the one wandering around with the slightly lost but sincere look on my face. It's all an adventure. 12/06- Now I live in Somerset so have a 1 hour commute to work-but-I can get to my son's in 45". Life is hectic with work.I can't wait to retire. I wish I knew where some of you are. 1/08- Moving along now. I'm a full time RV'er but not in the reti...Expand for more
red sense of the word. I live in a stationary spot for longer periods. That would currently be in Maryland and I work in DC. How did I survive the growing up years in the NJ winters? I did live in Texas for 26 years and the weather was a big part of why. While DC is an interesting area I seem to gravitate in the Annapolis direction and am feeling that I might gravitate ,once again, in the TX direction. I want to be warmer. It's fortunate that I work for a company that is large and national. The reunion was so enjoyable. I wish that more of us had been there. Stay close. Stay warm. 11/08- Happy to finally be back in TX. I'm at 352 Point Tr.Arlington,TX. 76015.It's pretty happening area and who would guess that a 400 lot RV park could be nestled in it's midst. So,I'll be busy reaquainting myself with the area and the inevitable changes that time brings. And, about time. let me go on record by saying that the physical toll that time takes on my body really sucks.Happy Holidays to all. 11/09- Currently in Chicago for a few weeks to help my sister following surgery. Still living in Texas and visiting Colorado every few months since my daughter and her family are there while her hubby is at UC Boulder.I do have 3 sons that I sm involved with but daughters are different I think for Moms? I'm still, repeat, still, working in hospice. Following my bliss seems so elusive. And,yes, I do like cheese with my whine.Actually,I'm just tired.I'm ready to spend time doing more of what I think I want to do. It is what it is.Looking forward to the reunion next fall. Class of '59 had a good one it seems with lots of identifying pictures.None of us have changed, right? Cheers
