Joan's Story
Hey. I remarried in 2001, I had been single for 17 years. Jim worked for HP and is now retired with disability. Glenn Jones and I had 3 children. Shirley is 35 and lives in Spanaway with husband and 3 children. Liz is 34, lives here in Redding, CA with her 2 kids. Jeff is 32, lives on Maui with Glenn.
Last Sept I started cycling to get fit and I LOVE IT! This summer I rode the STP (Seattle to Portland ride.) It was truely amazing! Some parts were strenuous, but for the most part is was very doable. I did complete the training schedule and that made the ride soooo much easier. "Awesome Seattle to Portland Bike Ride." My sister, Cindy, bought a bike just 3 weeks ago. And I just found out that my sister, Connie and her husband Gary, have been riding for a few months now. That was a wonderful surprise. I hope to talk all of them into riding the STP with me next year.
I have been teaching for 17 years and am now retired but not retired from children! I am volunteering in my granddaughters kindergarten room. Being with the children keep me young. AND its fun.
The last 4 years I visit Tacoma in April and October. I scrapbook with my two sister for a weekend then, spend 5 or 6 days with my folks. I am very fortunate that they are still here with us!
I am looking forward to our reunion next year!
