Joan's Story
I've been living in Grayslake, IL for the past 45 years. All of my eight kids have grown and started their own families leaving Grandma Joan with 17 grandchildren and expecting my 3rd great grandchild in November. Life has been good to me. I remarried in 1971 to a guy that loved me enough to take me and 8 kids and together we shared a good life for 31 years. He passed away with cancer in 2002.
I was employed at the College of Lake County in the Public Relations Department for 23 years, retiring at the beginning of 2000. Took another job as co-manager of Tri-...Expand for more
County Thrift Shop, supporting our pregnancy center, for another 9 years.
Because I have a son employed by United Airlines, I have had the wonderful opportunity to do some travelling, visiting places like Paris, Beijing, Hawaii and Salzburg. I am happiest during the summer, attending to my yard and garden and enjoying the good weather. Right now my best friend is my 10 year old dog, Sissy. We've been together since she was a young pup and now we share life together.
At this time of my life I enjoy good health and look forward to whatever adventures lie ahead.
