Joan's Story
Life
I'm the same as I was except I've been married since 1992, work at ivillage.com--at least til we're delisted (update: NBC Universal bought us in 2006 and I'm still here, being the potted plant that I am)--have paintings on exhibit at Crafter's Gallery in Saratoga Springs of my favorite subject, racehorses--live in Forest Hills, NY--and have a house in upstate NY--work on 7th Avenue in New York City. No kids, completely lack maternal instinct--have a stepson, who doesn't hate me because I'm obviously not the mother type--whatever.
School
I was in school back in the days when you were taught to think not swallow propaganda and vomit back Global Warmin...Expand for more
g. So learning was great back when that's what you were expected to do. To do it all over again in the seventies, maybe, to do it now, I'd rather eat glass.
Workplace
Real estate financial risk underwriting to student loan structured finance underwriting to corporate bond underwriting to company run into the ground to internet company to internet company bought by NBC. Underwhelming career arc, could care less. Wear jeans to work, stay at companies forever or until they go out of business, not ambitious in the conventional sense, just want to make a living, get home with plenty of time to paint racehorse pictures and keep my health insurance, really.
