Joan Phegley:  

Life I am married (25 years!)and we have three grown children (Jennifer, John, and Joshua). Early on in our life, we lived on both coast (North Carolina, and then San Diego, California). I don't miss either place, but loved that there was so much to do and see while living in California. I have worked for the School Corporation here in Terre Haute for about 15 years at first as a tutor for the E.S. L. program. I loved interacting with my students then, some of them from Malaysia, Korea, India, Japan and Egypt. I now have taught first grade for the last 8 years at a local elementary school and just recently renewed my teaching license through Purdue University. I've decided to put off my Masters until our son, Josh, (the baby) graduates or gets drafted! I thoroughly enjoy teaching, it is definitely a passion of mine. I also love to "try" to stay in shape by going to the fitness center and playing sports with my family (tennis being the most recent). The photos I've included are pictures of our two sons, Josh (who is a junior majoring in Sports Broadcasting at IU and had an incredible baseball season) and John (business major) who is in his last semester at Purdue. Jen (our daughter) graduated from SMWC and got married last November to her love, Kellen. She (a graphic design artist) and he (a Civil Eng.) both work downtown Indy and live in Broadripple. Meanwhile, I spend a lot of my summertime landscaping and enjoying my yard, helping Jen learn gardening, painting and remodeling and mostly reading (yes, I'm a bookworm geek, often reading 3 books at once) oh, and course chasing our youngest son around to the ballparks.
