Joan's Story
I fianlly retired on June 11, 2009, as a middle school counselor. I want to travel, but want to incorporate volunteer work with my many of my travels. I started with a mission trip to Costa Rica on June 13, 2009. I am signed up for a mission trip to Pharr, Texas this month (July, 2009) and in March, 2010, I will travel to Italy to tutor Italian children English. I am also registered for a trip to the Holy Land in September, 2010, with several other members of churches in our area of Central Texas.
I am a widow, having lost the love of my life to cancer four years ago (August 7, 2005) we would have been married 44 years that August 20th. I still miss...Expand for more
him every day, but count my blessings. We have four beautiful children, 2 girls Kathleen, and Deborah, and two boys, John Harlan, Jr., and Timothy, 2 wonderful son-in-laws and 2 beautiful daughter-in-laws, 15 grandchildren - 10 girls and 5 boys, and 4 great-grandchildren - 3 girls and 1 boy. My husband, Harlan, graduated from MHS in 1956, and his sister graduated in 1960 - Carolyn (Roberts) Glosson, but I didn't know Harlan until 2 months before we were married (many thought the marriage would not last - oh how wrong they were!)
Hoping to hear if our class will have a 50th - it sure would be a joy to see old classmates!
