Joanie's Story

Life May 1986-graduated from East Central, worked at Rolling Hills Redbud Grocery Store in Catoosa at the time. August 1986-moved in with my boyfriend Chris Long (who was a student at Sperry High School and graduated the same year as me)in a trailor house in north Tulsa, next door to his parents' home. March 1987-started working at Bi-Lo Food Warehouse on 21st & Yale in Tulsa. Worked there 2-1/2 years working up to assistant store manager. May 1989-married Chris after living with him for 2-1/2 years. Feb. 1990-gave birth to our first child, a daughter whom we named Codey Christina. treet in Tulsa. Worked there for 3 years. Worked my way up from stocker to assistant manager. Nov. 1992-Gave birth to my second child, a son, Justin Tyler. (He's 8 now) August 1993-bought 10 acres of land in Sperry, Oklahoma, and bought a brand new trailor home to move onto it. Have lived here 7 years now. April 1995-was transferred to another store in the Pricemart chain, the one in Broken Arrow, worked there for about 9 months, before quitting to stay home with my children. September 1996-gave birth to my 3rd child, another son, Wade Garrett. (He's 4 now.) Have been a stay-at-home mom for 5 years now, and loving it. My husband works for American Airlines and my children attend Sperry Public Schools.
