I always wanted to be a doctor when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a bad idea. As it turns out, they were wrong - but I still didn't get to be a doctor. Life took a dark and twisty road for a while... I wish I had spent more time laughing with them rather than at them or acting out and aggravating them. Having kids humbles you. You either accept complete responsibility for molding a new life or fail miserably and become irresponsible. My girls are a triumph of spirit against destiny. They both changed me profoundly in many ways, though each very very differently... If I won $100 million, I'd give 10% of it to charity, then spend the rest on daughters, a luxurious home and begin writing.
