Joanna (Beale)'s Story
Hi All -
After high school, joined the Navy, came back to N.Y., worked in my Mom's business, left N.Y..
Went to N.J., worked in Princeton University in the math dept., lived with my Grandmother while in N.J.
Got married, moved to Kileen Tx (husband in the service) moved to Medford, got divorced.
Worked in Mather Memorial Hosp. as assistant Comptroller.
I met second husband, married in '76 and still married to him -- his name is Wayne. He retired from Suffolk Cnty. Highway Patrol and does all the cooking (I haven't cooked in all these years). We left Medford, went to Northport, left Northport for Bradenton Fl.. Built a home on the north end of Sarasota Bay, stayed there for 15 yrs.. Moved to Palmetto Fl., gutted this home & made it into a 3,000' home on the water by Snead Island (see the Skyway Bridge from my decks). We have had numerous size boats - even lived aboard one while building our home. That was an experience everyone should have if they can.
2009 bought a log home in N.C. on 3 ...Expand for more
acres in the Smokey Mtns.(which is now our permant home) but still have the home in Palmetto (up for sale).
We have taken 92 cruises, been to Central America, Grand Cayman is home away from home.
We have 2 cats Max & Patches, a new addition to the family is a 5 lb. maltese/poodle rescue dog named Rambo (Wayne's choice of name not mine lol), drive a 2008 Toyota Matrix and a 2008 Tundra Crew Max Limited -also own a 31' Georgie Boy Mavric RV.
My spare time is spent doing yard work, decorating, watching and feeding the hummingbirds, seeing our wild turkeys strut down our driveway. Life in the Smokies is interesting to say the least - - at 10 PM out comes the local red fox, a really fat racoon and the black bear family (they all just pass through our back yard - really neat to watch them all). We flea market on the weekends, visit the nearby towns and see what is going on, plenty of local fairs to go to, check out the many lakes in the area and we just hang out together.
In other words Life Is Really Good!
