Joanne's Story
Living my Catholic faith according to the Gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ, and having a living faith, is most important to me. Recently, I became an Oblate Novice of St. Benedict at the Benedictine Monastery in Bristow, Virginia. I make my final Oblation at the Monastery in May 2009.
I have two terrific sons, Nicholas (age 28) and Simon (age 26), and a wonderful daughter-in-law, Carissa, with a grandchild oon the way!

The Arc is the nation's largest and oldest organization for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
I also volunteer for a local conservation organization (raising money), for the local hospice (doing patient care), and for the prison ministry through my church (teaching Bible study and life skills to incarcerated women).
My wonderful and large family is now mostly based in the mid-Atlantic region, except for my sister who lives in the deep South, and two brothers who are left in California.
