Joanne's Story

Hi Classmates; I was in A4 Academic - Andy Patterson's homeroom class. After graduation I moved to Ontario, worked in Toronto at Physicians Services Inc. for a time then moved to Oshawa the next spring as I was getting married to Cordell Darling. We lived in Oshawa for the first 6 years and had two children there. We moved to Three Hills, Alberta in 1970 where we served on the staff of Prairie Bible Institute until 1974. After that my husband opened his own business in town,a life insurance brokerage, and we built our home and incresed our family by one more - giving us a son and ...Expand for more
two daughters. I was a stay at home mom and raised our family, getting involved in volunteer efforts whenever I could and doing the book for my husbands business. Cordell was in the Life Insurance business for 31 years before he was taken very suddenly in a motor vehicle accident in 2001. Since then I cared for my aging father until his death 6 years ago. After ten years of widowhood, I have been very blessed to meet and marry another wonderful man. We are enjoying our retirement years together and are able to travel a bit to visit family and friends, scattered over two provinces.
