I live in Kalamazoo, Michigan and am a 6th grade teacher. I am married to a fantastic guy and have two kids, Jared and Lauren. After high school I attended Central Michigan where I earned a teaching degree. I spent a year working for Head Start up in Ludington, then I left for Fort Worth, Texas where I spent two years teaching life science/biology to 7th grade gang members and criminals (and a few nice kids thrown in there too). I then fled back home to Michigan, and I've been teaching 6th grade science and English near Kalamazoo since 1994. I've since earned a masters in education. It's funny...I look back at the old yearbooks (which are like encyclopedias) and realize how many people I didn't know. With so many kids in our graduating class, it's staggering how many people I never knew. I still keep in touch with a few people from high school.
