Life
After leaving B.R. in 1988, I transferred to Milton District High School. I loved it there and met some of the most amazing teachers ever! In 1991 I graduated and received a full academic scholarship to York University, where I attended for five year, studying history and sociology. In 1996 I graduated with a BA and a BEd, and began teaching with the Halton District School Board and the Halton Catholic School Board doing supply work. I actually got to see a lot of the teachers from B.R. through my supply coverage. In 1998 I got my first full-time job in Burlington. The principal of the school was actually my former principal from Milton District, which was helpful in getting the job, I'm sure! I was in Burlington until 2000, when I transferred to E.C. Drury High School in Milton. I teach history, which I love, although now that I have a little one, work isn't quite as important as it used to be. The kids at school are re...Expand for more
ally great, though, and I do love my job. It's nice to be back in town to work. I met my husband in 1988, and we married ten years later. We still live in Milton; in fact, just a couple of years ago we moved back to the old part of town where we both grew up, which is great. We're in a nice old century home which I love. We plan to add on in few years, because as anyone who ever had a child knows, there is never enough space, but we don't ever plan to move. In 2003 I had a baby girl, Sydney MacKenna. No plans for another one yet, but who knows! I'm currently working part-time at E.C. which is nice because I get to keep working but still have lots of time for the baby. We've got two cats and a wonderful bulldog named Matilda. My husband owns a machine shop here in town where he specializes in Porsches and Harleys. He also works part-time for the Canadian Forces Reserves. Other than that, life is pretty quiet and calm.
