Jody's Story
Life
I grew up in Southgate, but my family had a cottage on the North shore of Sand Lake. My mother was a school teacher, so we would pack up all 6 kids and spend the summers at the "Sand Castle" in the Irish Hills. We have since sold the cottage, but still cherish the memories!
After graduation I attended Kalamazoo College. I married my high school sweetheart who joined the military. He was stationed at Travis Air Force Base in CA. The marriage did not last, but I fell in love with CA.
I currently live in Northern CA. About 20 minutes from Napa Valley and 3 hours from Lake Tahoe; 1 hour from either San Francisco or Sacramento. It is a great location and the weather is wonderful!
I am married (17 years)to an awesome man (Matt). My husband works for Lucky grocery (31 years-Well you knew he was crazy-he married me!)
And to further prove his insanity he wanted children.
Did he not know that you get apples from apple trees? We are blessed with 2 bright shiny apples that did not fall far from the trees.
Mariah 16 yrs and James Riley (J.R.) 11 yrs.
They attend a Christian school and are both doing well academically as well as spiritually. Mariah is a cheerleader and a gymnast and J.R. is an avid sports fan - He Loves to play and watch.

County Sales Manager and Assistant Vice President for Fidelity National Title in Solano County. California Real Estate has been through the ringer lately, but we are coming out of it now and things are picking up!
In our spare time, Matt & I run a real estate sign business (going on 22 years now). Matt started doing signs as a favor to me when I worked for Century 21... now he does signs for 19 real estate companies as his part-time career.
Matt is a die hard 49er fan; even when they aren't winning. (I am working on recruiting him to the U of M team and after 20 years I am finally wearing him down!)
Matt's Family homesteaded property here in Vacaville, Ca in 1908. They still own the family ranch and we like to spend weekends up there either picking walnuts in the Fall or deer hunting. The kids like to ride the Quad runners up and down the hills and play in the creek. It is very rustic - well water, outhouse, propane stove, etc. We see bears, mountain lions, fox, and deer and occassionally a rattle snake or two. It is a great place for the kids to cut loose!
We like to spend our vacation time (when there is any) on the beach at our condo in Hawaii. California gets too cold! ;-) A slice of heaven on earth! You can check it out at vrbo dot com /87444.
