Jody's Story
Life
Briefly, I went to BYU-Hawaii right after high school, then married in 1986 and left for the Phillippines in 1987. Stayed until 1990, moved back to Vegas, divorced and moved to Palm Desert, CA in 1992 to go back to school. I met and married my current husband (knew I was going to marry him the day I met him, very wierd!) in 1993. We had our daughter in 1996, a son in 1998 and another son in 2001. We stayed in Palm Desert until 1999, then with a work transfer moved to El Centro, CA. We began investigating a transfer in 2005, did not materialize as hoped. e are!!! Now in 2008, another couple of years down the road from writing the above, still on Kauai. Kids are growing quickly, time doesn't pass any slower in paradise! My daughter has been in hula for almost 2 years, and all the kids learn to play the ukelele in school! The schools and community use kupuna (wise elders, men and women) to come in and teach the kids about hawaiian culture, and help them develop a love for the land, it is pretty cool. I doubt we will leave, my husband loves it! He is in golf heaven! There are a lot more people on classmates than a couple of years ago, kind of fun to see what everyone is doing!
