Joe's Story
Back in school I really wasn't part of the "in" crowd. Because I played some sports at Hambrick, I knew some the jocks at school. I was pretty low profile, but not really quiet. I was in D.E. at MacArthur and pretty much worked after school from my freshman year through graduation so I missed all the games and parties. I married my high school girlfriend, but got divorced in '91. I remarried and have been married to Fina for 19 years. as 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild--and another on the way. I worked several jobs throught out my work history, most notably as a court reporter from 1974 to 1979, when I hired on with good ole Southwestern Bell. I found out about SWBT from an arbitration hearing I took between SWBT and the Union. SWBT went through some name changes and finally wound up AT&T. I retired from AT&T in September 2008, after 29 years--thought that was enough. I am currently enjoying my retirement in the booming metropolis of La Porte.
