Life I work as a writer, of both fiction and non-fiction, after retiring as a professor at Webster University in St. Louis, where I taught for 32 years. My novel THE MIGHT HAVE BEEN was published in 2012 by Ballantine Books and I have also contributed roughly 600 articles, essays, reviews and stories to national, regional and local magazines, newspapers and literary journals. I have five children, all of them through college. My oldest son is a doctor in an emergency room in a St. Louis hospital, is married and he and his wife have a son and a daughter.
