Spivey's Story
I'm Joe Spivey and I'm from Corpus Christi, Texas. My schools include Central Park, South Park and Carroll High School.I was in the United States Navy for 20 years, from 1976 to 1996. my different duty stations and jobs were :
USS Enterprise, the world's first nuclear aircraft carrier. (I got my eyebrows burnt off by and F-14 Tomcat jet)
USS Chicago, A heavy guided missile cruiser
USS Durham, an amphibious cargo ship
Fleet Training Group in San Diego, I was a firefighting instructor for four years.I had just finished teaching a class of 50 students of a grease fire that you make french fries in. Later I have gone to lunch at McDonald's and became a hero by preventing one of the staff members from putting water on a grease fire in the french fry vat. I jumped over the counter stopped the girl and discharged the extinguishing agent on to the fire.The fire would've exploded with a 15 foot flame in a 9 foot ceiling and would've burned all the staff members and some of the customers,I was a hero that day and was reworded a free Big Mac.

After retiring from the United States Navy in 1996, I got a job at a Cabinet shop that builds television news sets. We installed KIII, Channel 3s TV News Set in Corpus Christi.
In 1998 I took a job at MSI Productions, the largest Audio Visual company in San Diego California.
I became the Carpenter, Repair Technician, Building Maintenance, Vehicle Maintenance, Truck Driving Instructor, Forklift Instructor. I build stage sets and props for shows that go to cities across the Nation.
I've been married for 27 years to a wonderful woman named Julie and have two great girls Cassie and Andrea.
I love country dancing, the West Coast Swing, Texas Two-Step, 10 Step Polka and the Waltz
I love playing racquetball, singles, doubles or cutthroat.
