Joe's Story
I've tripped the light fantastic for thirty-seven years post Franklin.
I have two grown kids (Jillian Urbina 22 and Joel Urbina 24).
Two marriages
More Kids on the way! Yes, I am starting a new family at age 54!
I was a baker for twelve years (two during high school).
I received my BA at CSULA in Liberal Studies.
I was the photo editor at my college newspaper.
I played college basketball.
I went from being a 'C' student at Franklin High School to being an Honor student in college. (Phi Kappa Phi).
I got my Master¿s degree at Eastern Washington University.
I coached basketball.
I was a photograph for several years. (LA Parent Magazine)
Sold real estate (hated it).
Owned a mansion in Spokane Washington.
I have travelled to over forty countries, and all continents except Antarctica.

urvived a deadly bought of cancer (non-Hodgkin¿s lymphoma). I was given six months to live in 1995.
I have run dozens of road races and will be doing my sixth marathon in October 2008.
Even though I was a rotten student in high school I now chair the ABE program at Portland Community College in Portland Oregon.
I still like sports. I play basketball (kinda), tennis, run and dragon boat.
I meditate daily and have been a vegetarian for over thirty-six years.
I now make masks, garden and cook for fun. I am also in the middle of preparing a nest for my wife and my new family. Second family will be here in Oct or 2008.
Even though I said ¿I¿ in this story way too many times. The truth is that I have been very lucky in my life and met amazing people who have helped me every inch of the way.
