John's Story
After graduation, I attend nursing school for a year. Then enlisted in the U.S. Army. Martha and I were married at Fort Sill, OK.
The Army sent us,then to Hawaii, we were there 2 years. After some training in Georgia. I was sent to Nekoma, ND to serve at a Nuclear missile site. All this was 1972 to 1975. During this time we had 3 sons. We came home to Louisville in the fall of 1975. I attended Spalding College for a year. Was a volunteer fireman at Pleasure Ridge Park Fire Dept. for 4 years.
While in the Army, I joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ( Mormon ).
We moved to Utah in 1988. By now we had 4 daugthers, bringing the total children to 7. We also have 29 grandchildren. While in Utah I started my career with Continental Airlines, I retired from Continental Airlines in 2011. Retirement in good. I am a avid firearms shooter. I am a Texas Departme...Expand for more
nt of Public Safety Certified Concealed Handgun Instructor. Also Martha and I have Amateur Radio licenses ( Extra ) my call sigh is AJ2H.
Of course there is alot more to tell, but that would take volumes.
Martha and I have visited many counties since I started working for Continental Airlines; our trip abroad was to Cancun, Mexico , England , France, Switzerland ,Israel , Japan ,Spain , Netherlands ,Portugal and Canada. We have taken 3 cruises, 2 to Alaska and 1 from Miami to Amsterdam this has been our favorite. We like to travel in the USA also; California , Georgia , Oklahoma ,Hawaii , Washington ,Arizona , North Dakota ,Virginia , Utah , Nevada , Iowa ,Florida , New Jersey , New York , Massachusetts , Illinois , Indiana ,Tennessee ,Missouri ,Kansas ,Wyoming , Idaho , Louisiana , and we now live in Texas.
I have worked in; Saudi Arabia , England , and Switzerland.
