John's Story

Life Moved in middle of senior year from Niagara Falls to North Ridgeville, OH. Probably not in either yearbook. Cleveland State University - Engineering, majored in fridays & beer every third quarter. Bored I guess. US Navy. Two years of training, Illinois, Florida and Idaho (join the navy, see the desert), not as boring as college, but still drank alot of beer. Assigned to an FBM tender with water-tight doors that leaked in dry-dock. Cruised half-way around the world worked on a bunch of nuclear subs and cruised half-way round the world again. Left her in another drydock but I had fixed those doors while we were in Guam, they didn't leak anymore. Met my future wife while at home on leave. o keep the power, water and lights going on a nuclear attack submarine. Got married in Norfolk while in port for a few days. My new wife rapidly failed to adjust to the rather hectic cold war schedule of a nuke sub, so she quit trying to get me to re-enlist. Worked for LILCo at Shoreham for less than a year. Went road-tech in commercial nukes, then DOE facility D&D and Environmental remediation. Now working for Eberline Hanford in the south-eastern Washington desert. Have two girls, one is with me in WA, the other is out of the house and doing what she wants (wish she would do something more beneficial to her, but it's her life). My wife is dealing with things at our house in MI (we couldn't give it away in the current market).
